Cielo Smith

Cielo Smith is an Argentinian artist, educator and Iyengar Yoga practitioner. She is based in Lisbon( PT) since 2022.

Besides being a Yoga instructor she is dedicated to the practice and research in the Arts of Movement. Her education background consists in a constant investigation in the field of Somatic Practices and self-awareness  through movement.

She started practicing Yoga in Buenos Aires in 2013, with Pablo Monteys, certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. Since 2018, she has continued his studies in this method with Paola Robledo. In the last few years, she has joined  international workshops with Abhijata Iyengar, Raya Uma Datta, Birjoo Mehta and Uday Bhosale, among others.

She also studied Choreographic Composition at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) in Buenos Aires.

She was a fellow member of the GEAM (Grupo de Experimentación en Artes del Movimiento) at the UNA and studied Contemporary Performing Arts at Espacio Café Müller in Buenos Aires.

She is a member of the 8LUCAS Collective, dedicated to independent research, production and creation in Performing Arts. Also Co-director and co-producer of the cyber art cycle “Desbordes, network encounters”.

Since 2024, in collaboration with Esteban Hezkibel, has been carrying out the project »Presença ● potência ● contacto», dedicated to the learning and practice of movement and contact.
